A pleasant surprise: new M. Craft songs

Here’s something I discovered earlier today. New songs from M. Craft! Some random surfing led me to his official myspace, which in turn led me to his own myspace which he has set up to upload new songs and demos he’s been working on. Well, good to see he’s been busy since the release of last year’s fine Silver and Fire album. Two of the songs there are downloadable and are posted below. Diamond Mine happily continues in a similar vein to Silver and Fire, whereas Thriftstore Cowboy seems to be Martin’s attempt at Spaghetti Western soundtracking, which is actually better than it might sound. The other two songs, Little Rider and Girls on Bicycles seem to go off in a more melancholic direction. But it’s all good stuff. Looking forward to the next album already. The only thing that’s missing on both his myspace sites is live dates!

Not got Silver and Fire? Might be a good idea to get it.
